Santa Marta is located on the north coast of Colombia and forms a contrast between the landscapes near the sea and those of the mountains with their snowy peaks. It is one of the oldest cities in America, founded in 1525.
Near Santa Marta you will find beautiful beaches with unique marine ecosystems. And Palomino, one of the best places to enjoy the beach in this region. Palomino is a paradise of beaches of fine white sand, beautiful blue sea water and lush vegetation. Very nice and not yet very touristic.
Obviously this area is also ideal for all kinds of water sports like (deep-sea) diving or snorkeling. The nearby Tayrona National Park, the only park with two (mountain and sea) large ecosystems, is well worth a visit. That is also the case for the journey to an indigenous settlement to get to know the lifestyle of the local residents.
Tayrona National Park is one of the most important natural parks in Colombia with a wide diversity of flora and fauna. It is part of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful destinations in Colombia.
